Last week we visited Rotterdam Art Week 2024, here is our recap.
The team here at Stax and some good friends of the store went to Rotterdam to indulge in the best art the world has to offer. First we hit up Object, an annual design fair.
Gang looking cozy. This fair had all types of products from home goods to paintings and a lot of tapestries. At object there’s a lot of New talent, all the way up to household names in the Product / Design scene.
At Object, which was hosted in a gutted 1930's Dudok building in and old industrial area, we visited @mirosumirosu. You may know her work from the ceramics atelier inside our store (for more info check @mirosumirosu). Here she was exposing her line of porcelain vases that can be rotated around a brass core allowing you to change the shape of the vases continuously.
Aloïs (@bird.guy) wearing a vintage Filson waxed jacket and paint splattered Carhartt carpenter pants.
Pulling up to the Van Nelle fabriek for Art Rotterdam and shit was packed. Line out the door.

Aloïs (@bird.guy) & Daan (@daan_rietbergen) discussing work by the Quistrebert Brothers (@quistrebert_brothers). Apparently these brothers start a painting and then ship it back and forth to each other after they each add or change something making their paintings a result from a dialog between the two.

Ruben (@l_i8y) wearing original 1970's GAT's, a good combo with the cuffed all black Dickies.
Daan getting close and personal with this @nasbami piece that has a crazy texture going on.
